Here's my Bio.....

Bethany Clark is a jewelry designer based in San Francisco, California. From an early age, she has always had her hand in making jewelry for herself and for friends. In 2000, she took this long time passion to heart and began to seriously focus on designing and producing her own line of jewelry. By 2002 she had founded Texture, her jewelry company. Around this same time, she also became the production manager for designer Marcie White at her San Francisco jewelry studio and shop, Picky.

Bethany's approach to Texture is a reflection of her own fashion aesthetic, what she describes as “gaudy self-adornment.” Her early designs were reflections of her love of classic Hollywood glamour and Cartier extravagance. Intricate chokers and lavish necklaces bound together by her obsession with symmetry defined these pieces. As her production techniques advanced, she began to search beyond the traditional repertoire of materials for inspiration.

On a trip to Japan, she came upon Japanese-designed geisha stickers and, together with her new-found love for plastics, she found a new direction for her designs. Found objects. Anything from computer circuit boards to images from airline safety manuals, became the centerpieces of her designs. Her capsule series focused on medicinal gel-caps filled with a variety of objects and powders, then dipped in resin, and clustered together to make charming pieces . Antique buttons found in her mother's sewing box were the focus for a collection of rings. Bethany has the unique ability to turn ordinary objects into extraordinary creations. Stay tuned for her current line of production, “Heavenly,” which will push this concept into an even grander realm.
